2023 National Lung Cancer Screening Day – Flint Hills

Stormont Vail Health offers weekend screening events on National Lung Cancer Screening Day to improve screening access for people unable to take off work during regular clinic hours.
If you’re a patient at the Stormont Vail Health Flint Hills or Manhattan Campuses considered high risk for lung cancer, make screenings part of your routine preventative care – starting with our National Lung Cancer Screening Day event on Saturday, Nov. 11.
To schedule your Saturday, Nov. 11 screening, call your provider’s office to book a consultation appointment or ask to schedule a scan at the event during your next visit. Saturday, Nov. 11 screenings are available to patients who discuss the benefits of this exam and receive orders from their provider during a previous office appointment.
Schedule Your Scan If…
- You’re a current or former smoker
- Between the ages of 50 – 77 & on Medicare
- Between the ages of 50 – 80 with private insurance
- If you quit smoking within the past 15 years
- You have a history of 20 or more Pack Years of smoking (Example: # of packs × # of years = 20)
Screenings are unavailable if you…
- Took antibiotics for pneumonia or a respiratory infection in the last 12 weeks
- Recently noticed bloody sputum (saliva & mucus mixture)
- Unexplainably lost 15 pounds or more in the last 12 months
- Received a chest CT scan within the previous 12 months
