DESCRIPTION:Stormont Vail Health offers weekend screening events on National Lung Cancer Screening Day to improve screening access for people unable to take off work during regular clinic hours. \n\n\n\nIf you’re a patient at the Stormont Vail Health Flint Hills or Manhattan Campuses considered high risk for lung cancer\, make screenings part of your routine preventative care – starting with our National Lung Cancer Screening Day event on Saturday\, Nov. 11. \n\n\n\nTo schedule your Saturday\, Nov. 11 screening\, call your provider’s office to book a consultation appointment or ask to schedule a scan at the event during your next visit. Saturday\, Nov. 11 screenings are available to patients who discuss the benefits of this exam and receive orders from their provider during a previous office appointment. \n\n\n\nSchedule Your Scan If… \n\n\n\n\nYou’re a current or former smoker\n\n\n\nBetween the ages of 50 – 77 & on Medicare\n\n\n\nBetween the ages of 50 – 80 with private insurance\n\n\n\nIf you quit smoking within the past 15 years\n\n\n\nYou have a history of 20 or more Pack Years of smoking (Example: # of packs × # of years = 20)\n\n\n\n\nScreenings are unavailable if you… \n\n\n\n\nTook antibiotics for pneumonia or a respiratory infection in the last 12 weeks\n\n\n\nRecently noticed bloody sputum (saliva & mucus mixture)\n\n\n\nUnexplainably lost 15 pounds or more in the last 12 months\n\n\n\nReceived a chest CT scan within the previous 12 months
