DESCRIPTION:While experts anticipate the number of strokes to increase with the growing older adult population\, concerning trends show a rise in strokes affecting people under 55 years old. By continuing their education and training\, healthcare providers can help curb these rates and support at-risk patients with effective prevention and patient education. \n\n\n\nStormont Vail Health invites team members\, local healthcare professionals\, and students to join the 2024 Bi-State Stroke Consortium Symposium on Friday\, Mar. 29\, 2024\, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stormont Vail Topeka Hospital Pozez Education Center Auditorium. \n\n\n\nStormont Vail and Mayo Clinic experts will discuss advancements in stroke care\, guidelines\, and prevention as stroke survivors and family members highlight and humanize these insights with firsthand experiences of recovery and caregiving.  \n\n\n\nInterested individuals can find additional details and registration information on the Stormont Vail Continuing Education Portal: www.eeds.com/portal_live_events.aspx?ConferenceID=318108. \n\n\n\nBi-State Consortium and EMS personnel members may attend the symposium at no charge.
