DESCRIPTION:This doctor-led group is a fun and safe place to hear briefly about an important health topic and enjoy a walk outside with a physician each month. \n\n\n\nJoin Dr. Casey Whale on Saturday\, January 21st\, as we learn about orthopedics and sports medicine. Participants should meet at the east side of Lee Arena at Washburn University. \n\n\n\nThe walk is open to the community. Participation is free and pre-registration is not required. And don’t worry – if it’s too cold\, or snowing\, we will move the walk indoors. \n\n\n\nAccording to the American Heart Association\, walking as little as 30 minutes a day can provide the following benefits: \n\n\n\nImprove blood pressure and blood sugar levels \n\n\n\nHelp maintain a healthy body weight and lower the risk of obesity \n\n\n\nEnhance mental well-being \n\n\n\nReduce the risk of osteoporosis Walk with a Doc (WWAD) is an international non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire communities through movement and conversation.
