SUMMARY:Boy to Man
DESCRIPTION:Boys experience puberty also and while usually starting later than girls\, the time in a boys life between the ages of 10-13 is filled with many physical and emotional changes. These changes are exciting\, but also are often puzzling\, sometimes embarrassing\, and usually challenging to a young adolescent. Join us for a discussion that will focus on the physiological changes of puberty\, the developmental tasks of early adolescence and ways to improve communication between boys and their parents. This class features a time for boys and their parents to be together but also have time for facilitated discussion separately. \n\n\n\nFee: $25 for each parent/child duo; $12.50 for each additional sibling. Classes are designed to help families prepare for the breastfeeding experience by providing information on how breastfeeding works\, how to get started\, problems that may arise and how to incorporate breastfeeding and working. \nThis class will be held in the Stormont Vail Health Auditorium. SUMMARY:Car Seats: Beyond the Basics Course
DESCRIPTION:In this course\, certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will teach you everything you need to know about car seat safety\, including Kansas laws\, the latest research on safely transporting children\, and hands-on experience installing different types of seats. \n\n\n\nParticipants who complete the program will receive a FREE car seat! \n\n\n\n\nMaximum of one seat per household (while supplies last)\n\n\n\n\nTo minimize distractions\, we ask that children not attend. However\, if this will prevent you from attending\, please email carseat@stormontvail.org so we can arrange accommodations \n\n\n\nSeating is limited to 10 couples per class\, so save your spot before it’s gone!

SUMMARY:Welcome Baby Class
DESCRIPTION:This class is designed to provide up to date information about newborn care\, safe sleep\, car seat safety\, calming a fussy baby\, feedings\, and more.  Adjustments to parenthood as well as nurturing your relationship with your support person will also be covered in this class. Mothers are welcome to bring their support person\, family or a friend who provides support during their pregnancy and beyond.  Class will consist of a combination of presentation and hands on practice of techniques such as diapering and swaddling.  \nClass is held in the Pozez Education Center Auditorium at Stormont Vail Hospital.
