DESCRIPTION:Falls are the leading cause of injury and hospitalization for trauma — as well as trauma-related death — among older adults. If you are 65 or older\, have had a fall in the past year\, or live alone\, this workshop provides information on keeping balance\, the causes of falls\, and dangers to look out for. Topics covered include: \n\n\n\n\nSimple and fun balance and strength training\n\n\n\nThe role that vision plays in keeping your balance\n\n\n\nHow medications can contribute to falls\n\n\n\nWhat to look for in safe footwear\n\n\n\nHow to eliminate fall hazards in your home\n\n\n\n\nWe meet once a week for 2 hour sessions for 8 weeks starting Thursday June 11\, 2026 at 10:00am. DESCRIPTION:Boys experience puberty also and while usually starting later than girls\, the time in a boy’s life between the ages of 10-13 is filled with many physical and emotional changes. These changes are exciting but are often puzzling\, sometimes embarrassing\, and usually challenging to a young adolescent. Join us for a discussion that will focus on the physiological changes of puberty\, the developmental tasks of early adolescence and ways to improve communication between boys and their parents. This class features a time for boys and their parents to be together but also have time for facilitated discussion separately. \n\n\n\nFee: $25 for each parent/child duo; $12.50 for each additional sibling.
